Seeds are available only for home gardening purpose and not farming in large area being done commercially. Also seeds for future usage should be collected by themselves. Seeds are shared with the intention of preserving our heirloom seed varieties. It is always better to collect and save seeds for the upcoming seasons instead of being bought everytime in shops. Each variety of seed costs rs.10 and as a set of 110varieties costs rs.1100
Seeds will be sent through courier only on every Wednesday. Within Tamilnadu , courier charge is rs.50.

We are setting up home gardening, terrace gardening and providing training as well. Wherever be the space, let us try to produce our own non- poisonous crops ourselves. 400 sqr.ft area is enough for a family of 4 members to harvest vegetables and greens throughout the year. 33 cents of area will be enough for complete crop requirement for a family which includes paddy, small grains, pulses and oil seeds.

Also we are extending our service in schools as well and would like to educate the organic farming to children. We are guiding for organic farming and Permaculture.

Return_gift:

In our tradition, we offer return gift to our relatives and friend who attended the wedding. It’s not only tradition, but there is a science behind it. Our ancestors gave a bag of Beetle leaves, Nuts and Coconut as return gift. The beetle leaves/Nuts help in digestion and Coconut helps to drive away the tiredness of travelling.

Nowadays saplings are given as return gift for many of the functions like Marriages, Birthday parties, House warming ceremonies and many others. As per requests from our friends “Aadhiyagai” started sharing the native seed bags as return gift for the past one year.

Our aim is to initiate people to start kitchen garden and to keep our native seeds in rotation. By this our native seeds reaches many hands. Not only farmers, It’s all our duty to save our indigenous seeds.

Nowadays many have started terrace gardening, this will help them to plant native seeds and those who haven’t started yet may get interest when they have seeds in hand.

Based on all these good cause, we have started to provide seed bags as return gift who asked for. From the year 2014, native seeds are collected, multiplied and shared to people who needs it. You can avail sufficient seeds of Tomato, Brinjal, Ladies finger, Greens, Herbs, Flowers and Creepers varieties as a pack of 10 to 20 seeds in each bag.

As we are aware, nowadays crops are cultivated with hazardous pesticides and chemical fertilizers which leads us to consume poisonous food. Also our native seeds are genetically modified for high yield and treated with chemicals for preservation. Birth diseases are getting increased among children because of these chemically grown GM crops.
Let us preserve our native seeds for our food needs and try to cultivate as much as vegetables for our family ourself in organic way. This will make our life self sustainable and agriculture as our way of life. Let us use the available space in terrace or backyards for cultivating vegetables.

List of materials required for terrace gardening

1)soil :
It is not must that we should use only red soil for gardening. Any soil around us either from farming land or soil under the trees can be used. It will be always good to use the soil taken 1 feet depth below the ground level.

2)Decomposable wastes
All kind of biodegradable wastes from trees, plants, vegetables,fruits, tea dusts, coconut husks , sugarcane wastes can be used.

3) Gardening Area
Let us try to use the unused space or backyards in home wherever sunlight is available. If not, we can use strong containers like cement pots, paint buckets , non- biodgradable plastic bags for gardening.

4) Base
Instead of keeping the grow bags directly on the terrace floor, bags can be kept over a base made of wood or flat boards with a brick under these boards so that gap can be ensured between floor and bags.

5) Cattle wastes:
We need either Cow dung or goat dung wastes in diluted form or dry form for preparing potting mix.

6)) Seeds

Vegetables , greens, herbals, flowers are required to set up a complete home garden in Permaculture way.

Gardening for schools

Along with home gardening, we are helping to do gardening in schools too. This will create and spread awareness of self sustainable life among the school chikdren who will take the farming knowledge to their home. We provide training to school kids about organic farming and importance of producing crops required for our daily needs by ourselves.
